Richmond Hill born and raised comedian Liam Kelly has been making audiences laugh for nearly twenty years. Liam is an accomplished improviser, sketch comedian and stand up and can be seen running Richmond Hill's only weekly comedy show, Devilishly Good Comedy every Saturday night at St. Louis Bar and Grill. With credits including The Second City and Yuk Yuks, Liam is also proud to teach Class Clowns. Class Clowns is an introduction to comedy for teenagers in Richmond Hill in association with the Humber College School of Comedy. |

Iranian National Choir and Orchestra Third Performance
presented by Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts
Kamal Taravati founded Nava in 1987 and the Iranian National Choir in 2007. The Choir group, originally composed of enthusiastic university students, flourished into an integral part of the Iranian-Canadian artistic community. 'Iranian National Choir and Orchestra' is an affiliate of Nava Music Centre. Nava's goal is to provide an opportunity to introduce Toronto audiences to the richness and diversity of Iranian music through different times. Third performance of Iranian National Choir and Orchestra will be a concert of 'Persistent orchestral works of prominent poets and musicians'. |

Holiday Spectacular on the Hill
presented by Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra
At this annual event, audiences experience music and elements of the holiday season, interpreted through the creative lens of the RHPO. Hear Tchaikovsky like never before. This year, the Not Affiliated Big Bang joins the RHPO to present 'The Nutcracker,' through the narration, Tchaikovsky's score, and Duke Eliington's jazz arrangement. A new twist on E.T.A. Hoffman's story, The Nutcracker and the King of Mice, will delight audiences of all ages with swing and sophistication. |

Suite Thursdays Sharon Matthews

Sharron Matthews gets around...and in the interest of clarity...without being tongue in cheek or chatty. Sharron Matthews took the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival by storm, garnering amazing reviews for her one woman show, 'Jesus Thinks I'm Funny', which was named one of the 'Best of the Fest' by the Scotsman newspaper, out of 2800 shows. Following the Edfringe, Sharron toured the show to London's Leicester Square theatre to sold out audiences. Her New York cabaret debut, 'Sharron Matthews Superstar: World Domination Tour 2010', was named '#1 Cabaret in New York City in 2010' by Andrew Martin of NiteLifeExchange and WPAT Radio. In 2012, Sharron's new show 'Sharron Matthews Superstar: Gold' will start in Toronto and then travel to the Edinburgh Fringe, London, and New York City. In October, she makes first visit to South Africa to perform in the inaugural Cape Town Cabaret Festival. (She....gets around.) |

Concerts in the Park
Mill Pond Park
The Concerts in the Park series has been one of the great joys of summer in
Richmond Hill since 1975. Residents are encouraged to come out and enjoy an exciting
line-up of musical talent in genres including Blues, Country, Rock and Roll, Celtic,
tribute bands, childrens acts and so much more!
The free outdoor concerts, presented by Tim Hortons, take place on Thursday evenings in
July and August at Mill Pond Park and some Sunday afternoons at Richmond Green Park.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets or cushions to each concert for
seating.
Concert Cancellations
Summer weather becomes a key consideration to the safety of the Concerts
patrons. In the event of inclement weather near to or during a performance, it will be
determined if the concert will continue as scheduled. In the event of cancellations,
signage will be posted on the gazebo at Mill Pond Park by 6:30 p.m. that evening or at the
Richmond Green Park front gate sign by 12:30 p.m. that afternoon. Concert goers can also
call the Concerts in the Park Hotline at (905) 771-5466 for status updates of concerts the
day of a scheduled performance. Unfortunately, concerts cannot be rescheduled.
Non-perishable Food Donations Benefiting the Richmond Hill Food Bank
Non-perishable food donations are accepted at each Thursday night (donation bin
is located near the barbecue ticket sales table) and Sunday afternoon concert (donation
bin is located near the performance stage) which go on to assist members of the Richmond
Hill community with much needed resources. |
