Canadian Ski Patrol will make it easy to sell your used ski and snowboard equipment! Canadian Ski Patrol are looking for public skis, snowboards and boots. Equipment should be no more than five (5) years old and subject to a safety inspection. Public registration is a service for the general public. Bring your used equipment to the swap, Friday and Saturday Only, You decide on the price, There is a registration fee of $1.00 per item. Maximum of $5.00 per person consigning items for the Swap, Canadian Ski Patrol will do the rest. Canadian Ski Patrol will place your equipment on the swap floor for the public to view. If someone purchases it, Canadian Ski Patrol will handle the sales transaction for you. A 19% commission will be retained on all sold items.

Bereaved Families of Ontario, Durham Region (BFO) prepares for another year for the “Walk to Remember” event, which will be held on Sunday March 4th, 2012 from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Five Points Mall. The “Walk to Remember” is an annual fundraiser for BFO, where friends and family come together to create new memories and reflect upon past memories. This year, the Charles Street Band will be providing entertainment for the event. The walk will finish with a draw for prizes that have been donated to BFO. Some of this year's top prizes include Raptors tickets and a Personal Organizer.

Gutsy Walk is the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada's (CCFC's) most energetic and fun fundraising event. On June 10, 2012, thousands of Canadians at almost 80 locations across the country will walk together to raise money to find a cure for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which is made up of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

The 32nd Annual Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive, 1-10 kilometre event. Participants can walk, jog, wheel, run or bike to raise money for cancer research for the Terry Fox Foundation. The Town of Ajax takes great pride in its waterfront - six kilometers of unspoiled park land stretching across the Town's southern border along the shores of Lake Ontario. This land, totaling over 150 acres, is used by residents and visitors who come to enjoy the scenic views, engage in recreational activities in the open spaces, and utilize the multi-use trail for a number of purposes. The asphalt trail, which is over four kilometers in length, is part of the Waterfront Trail that runs from Hamilton to Belleville. Participants of the Town's half marathon (21.1 km) will experience first-hand why the waterfront is often referred to as "the jewel of the south".

Last year's 2nd Annual event saw over 600 participants raise over $50,000 to fund programming for cancer patients and their families. The 3rd Annual Hearth Place 5K on the Runway will be held at the Oshawa Municipal Airport on September 23, 2012. All air traffic at the airport will cease from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. while runners, walkers and their supporters participate.

Epilepsy Durham Region would like to invite you to join us on Saturday, September 29th as we "PULL Together for Epilepsy" at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex located at 2440 King St. West. In association with Clarington Emergency and Fire Services, the PULL will take place during Family Safety Day. 2:00pm - 4:00pm. A registration fee of $10.00 per team member provides registered participants with a free t-shirt. Each team must have ten members to participate in the PULL. The deadline to register is Friday, September 21st so secure your team’s spot today. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk funds lifesaving research and support for people battling cancer. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening walks in over two hundred communities each fall across North America. Anyone can take part - children, adults and seniors are all welcome. This is a casual fundraising walk with no fitness requirements. There are many ways you can help. You can register to walk individually or, even better, as part of a team; make a donation online; or become a volunteer or sponsor/partner. Funds raised through Light The Night Walk support the work of hundreds of the world's best and brightest researchers in their search for better therapies and cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
