The Oakville Art Society, founded in 1965, is an independent self supporting organization
of artists, potters, jewelers, photographers and sculptors. ART IN THE PARKis one of
several shows the Society organizes that provides opportunities for artists to display
their work. Art in the Park in Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park is one of Oakville's
premiere outdoor community events, drawing more than 3,000 visitors and participants from
across Canada and around the world. The show features original work from over 150 artists
with emphasis placed on painting, pottery, sculpture, woodworking, and photography. |

Annual Charity Golf Tournament for Oakville Hospital
Once again, Oakville golfers will tee up to support OTMH and the new Oakville Hospital. This year's event will be held at the Glen Abbey Golf Club and will include on-course activities, great food, fabulous prizes and auction items. Glen Abbey Golf Club has been a grand stage for golf history since opening more than 30 years ago. Presided over by a superb clubhouse facility, the property is also home to the ClubLink Academy, the Canadian Golf Museum and Hall of Fame, and the headquarters of Golf Canada.

2012 OHF - Candlelight Ball

It is one of Oakville's most popular social evenings and the biggest single day fundraising event for Oakville Hospital Foundation. The 2011 Candlelight Ball raised an incredible $1 million net to help fund essential medical equipment for OTMH and the new Oakville Hospital. Proceeds from the 2011 event purchased a number of high-priority items including a digital ultrasound system for the rehabilitation and geriatrics department, a biphasic defibrillator for the emergency department, six new ECG machines for the cardiology department, and the entire 2011 equipment list for the surgical department. All these pieces of equipment will be used at OTMH and move with us to the new Oakville Hospital.

Celebrate the lights, the magic, and the charm of downtown Oakville this Christmas as the businesses kick-off the holiday season with the official lighting of our fantastic new Towne Square Tree. Santa and his elves will be treating everyone to hot apple cider and holiday cheer. A special part of this evening is the annual downtown Christmas Carol-sing along with Oakville's Mayor and the Salvation Army Band. We're in, are you?
Join the Town of Oakville and the world by participating in Earth Hour 2013!
Earth Hour is a global lights-out initiative created by the World Wildlife Fund. Millions
of people around the globe and here in Canada will turn off their lights for one hour on
March 31 at 8:30 p.m. to show support for action on climate change.
Last year, residents surpassed the 5 per cent energy conservation goal and achieved energy
savings of 8.2 per cent. This year the Town's goal is to reduce energy consumption by 10
per cent during the hour! |

The Super Cities WALK is the MS Societys largest
pledge-based fundraiser involving over 70,000 participants and volunteers in more than 160
communities across Canada in the spring and early fall. Each event location has routes of
varying length and at least one that is wheelchair accessible. The WALK began in 1991 and
is now one of our most important events. The Super Cities WALK is truly a family-oriented, community-supported event that
makes a difference in the lives of Canadians living with MS. |

fireworks display just off the Bronte Pier. This year, PARKING WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE in
the immediate area for those coming to see the fireworks in the evening. A shuttle bus
service (not Oakville Transit) is being used to transport people from different parking
lots. PLEASE DO NOT PLAN TO BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THE EVENT. There will be little or no
