DOWNTOWN OAKVILLE FALL FESTIVAL
Dont miss this much-anticipated event attracting over 10,000 people. Beginning at
9:00 a.m. at The Towne Square, Downtown Oakville hosts a kick-off pancake breakfast. This
is a great day to bring the kids downtown to enjoy an afternoon hayride, face painting and
fresh-shucked corn on the cob. The most special part of Fall Festival is the kick-off to
this seasons A Taste of Downtown Oakville with a day of appreciation of
the finer things: fine wine, art and gastronomically pleasing delights. |

Bronte Village invites you to their Autumnfest & Giant Sidewalk Sale
Come out and celebrate the arrival of the fall harvest season with a twist! Enjoy the
crisp autumn air and the colours of fall in picturesque Bronte Harbour Village by the Lake
on Saturday, September 27. Lakeshore Rd. W. will be closed between Bronte Rd. and East
Street.
Bring walking shoes, folding chairs, and the family down for a FREE, fun-filled fall day
of activities, food, fun and music for all ages, no admission charge.
- The Lions Club will kick-start the day with their famous
pancake breakfast on the street, from 8-11am.
- The focal point of the day is the GIANT SIDEWALK SALE 10
6pm.
- Visit the friendly merchants and service providers and
shop for end of summer bargains, fall or pre-Christmas treasures. Bronte is the shopping
and dining center of West Oakville.
- FREE entertainment and kids activities are scheduled
between 11am. and 2:30 pm.
- Music will be provided on several staging areas by various
performers including those from CJs Café in Bronte, Retro Rock Lounge and others to
be announced.
- Bronte special events wouldnt be complete without
the much-beloved and traditional Horse and Wagon Rides.
- Other autumn-themed kids activities will be
available including inflatables at a small fee per child.
- A display of classic cars will line Lakeshore Rd. Visit
and talk to the proud owners.
- Come to Bronte and enjoy the atmosphere, a day by the lake
and enjoy family fun and entertainment.

Doors Open Oakville 2010Do you have a passion for history, heritage or architecture? Curious
about the interiors of what's normally hidden from public view, in some of Oakville's
finest buildings? Oakville's first annual Doors Open event will be held September 27 and
28, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (unless otherwise noted in the location description).
Historical, arts and cultural buildings will be throwing open their doors to welcome you
to this free event!. Many of the participating sites in Oakville will offer special
activities such as guided tours, exhibitions and demonstrations.
With its rich history and heritage, Oakville is an ideal location for visitors to explore.
The town has an abundance of heritage properties that tell a multitude of colourful
stories. But it's also a town with significant artistic and cultural resources, fostered
by individuals and groups passionate about what they do, understanding, as they do, the

HALTON REGION MUSEUM: Historic Christmas Feast
Halton Region Museum, 5181 Kelso Rd. Kelso Conservation Area MiltonJoin us for an exquisite meal of 19th century fare in the historic
Hearth Room at the Halton Region Museum. After the meal, kick up your heels in front of
the roaring fire and enjoy an evening of lively entertainment. Tickets $125/person and

The Menu
Exquisite fare featuring a selection of traditional nineteenth century cuisine artfully
prepared by Allisons Gourmet Catering to please todays palate while harkening
back to a time when eating local meant from your own backyard. Begin with
Scotch tasting by the fireplace in the Loft Room followed by an elaborate gourmet meal of
holiday favourites like roast beef, butter roasted turkey with traditional stuffing, sweet
wine Victorian syllabub and more. Plum pudding flambé will complete the dinner- all
served family style at your table in the Hearth Room located in the historic
Alexander Barn that was built in the 1800s but completely renovated in 2001.
The Entertainment
Guests will be entertained throughout the meal with a traditional Saturday night Cèilidh
of exciting Canadian Celtic music performed by popular Hamilton group, The
Runes, featuring the pure and beautiful vocals of Ruth Sutherland. The evening is a
tribute to the Alexander family one of Haltons founding families who farmed
the site from 1836 to 1961 where the Halton Region Museum is located and presently holds a
vast collection of artifacts and exhibits in addition to seven historical buildings.
The Cause: A Fundraising Event
The Halton Museum Foundation raises funds to support capital projects at the Museum
through events like the annual Historic Christmas Feast and Jazz at the Museum. Current
projects include the refurbishment of the Piggery and the Drive Shed.
