HALTON REGION MUSEUM: Historic Christmas Feast

Halton Region Museum, 5181 Kelso Rd. Kelso Conservation Area Milton

Join us for an exquisite meal of 19th century fare in the historic Hearth Room at the Halton Region Museum. After the meal, kick up your heels in front of the roaring fire and enjoy an evening of lively entertainment. Tickets $125/person and includes dinner. For more information, call 905- 875-2200 ext. 23.

The Menu
Exquisite fare featuring a selection of traditional nineteenth century cuisine artfully prepared by Allison’s Gourmet Catering to please today’s palate while harkening back to a time when “eating local” meant from your own backyard. Begin with Scotch tasting by the fireplace in the Loft Room followed by an elaborate gourmet meal of holiday favourites like roast beef, butter roasted turkey with traditional stuffing, sweet wine Victorian syllabub and more. Plum pudding flambé will complete the dinner- all served “family style” at your table in the Hearth Room located in the historic Alexander Barn that was built in the 1800’s but completely renovated in 2001.

The Entertainment
Guests will be entertained throughout the meal with a traditional Saturday night Cèilidh of exciting Canadian Celtic music performed by popular Hamilton group, “The Runes”, featuring the pure and beautiful vocals of Ruth Sutherland. The evening is a tribute to the Alexander family – one of Halton’s founding families who farmed the site from 1836 to 1961 where the Halton Region Museum is located and presently holds a vast collection of artifacts and exhibits in addition to seven historical buildings.

The Cause: A Fundraising Event
The Halton Museum Foundation raises funds to support capital projects at the Museum through events like the annual Historic Christmas Feast and Jazz at the Museum. Current projects include the refurbishment of the Piggery and the Drive Shed.

Tickets for corporate and personal tables are available through advance sale only, for $115 per person, by calling 905-875-2200 ext. 21. Visit www.halton.ca/museum. for more information. Tax receipts will be issued. Cash bar.
