Mississauga Marathon presented by Canon

The 5th anniversary of the Mississauga Marathon presented by Canon will hit the streets on May 10th and 11th. This 'Run for Everyone' has an event for all ages and abilities. Events Include: The Mississauga News 2K Family Fun Run/Walk; "The Hazel" 5K; Desjardins General Insurance 10K and 10K Student Relay; Grand & Toy Corporate/Team Relay; and the Reebok Half Marathon and Canon Marathon.

Cloverleaf Garden Club Annual Plant Sale

Portuguse Cultural Centre of Mississauga, 53 Queen Street North in Streetsville

An abundance of varied plants (perennials, herbs, houseplants and more) will be available for purchase. Come early for a good selection. A portion of the proceeds of the sale go towards community beautification.

Trillium Health Centre Foundation - First Annual Bike for Betty

Port Credit Memorial Park, 32 Stavebank Road

Come participate in the first ever Bike4Betty non-competitive bike ride and help the Betty Wallace Women's Health Centre fight breast cancer and osteoporosis. This non-competitive bike ride will start and finish at Memorial Park, Port Credit, sticking closely to the beautiful Waterfront Trail bike path. Participants can choose a distance that is right for them - 2k, 15k, 30k, 40k or 75k.

WALK for ALS is a fun, family-friendly annual event hosted by the ALS Society of Ontario. The walk raises funds for equipment and support services for people living with ALS, a rapidly progressing and fatal neuromuscular disease.

Spike Out Hunger Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament

Village Oasis at Sports Village, Vaughan, Ontario

In honour of National Hunger Awareness Day, the Karen Shank Foundation presents the 3rd annual SPIKE OUT HUNGER beach volleyball tournament. All proceeds raised and food collected from this fun-filled event will benefit the Eden Community Food Bank and the on-campus University of Toronto Mississauga Food Bank, two important local charities that support the fight against hunger. This year, there are three tournament levels: Recreation and Intermediate 6s = $240 Team Registration Fee* Advanced 4s = $160 Team Registration Fee* Individual entry is $40. *Teams raising pledges equal to or greater than the team registration fee will be refunded of the registration fee. Prizes will be presented to the winning teams, including a cash prize of $200 to the winners of the Advanced 4s division. Prizes also go out to the top pledge-raising team and the top food-donating team. There will also be a raffle with some fabulous prizes.

The event brings communities together and touches the lives of thousands of Canadians with spinal cord injury every year. Funds raised support a wide range of life-enhancing solutions that allow people with spinal cord injury to fully participate in their community and live life to its full potential. Wheels In Motion is an important part of the Rick Hansen Foundation's ongoing commitment to making Canadian communities accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities.
