FEAST OF FIELDS EVENT
Cold Creek Conservation Area
www.feastoffields.org, 905-859-3609
King Township-Preparations are well underway for the 23rd annual Feast of Fields event.
This prestigious event encourages visitors to savour and enjoy the organic lifestyle.
We are thrilled with this years Exhibitors, and the event is shaping up to be
the best ever! says Event Manager, Patty Fleetwood. Feast of Fields is an afternoon
event in the country that hosts organic chefs, vintners, breweries and farmers from all
over Ontario to prepare organic food that visitors can enjoy as they stroll throughout the
park. This years event, held at Cold Creek Conservation Area, in King Township on
September 9, from 12-5, supports local freshness and flavor. Every year, the event gets
bigger and bigger. As the organic, local food movement is raising consciousness of
the food we eat and drink, more and more people are making the event a staple of their
fall outings. We have really tried to create and foster the local, organic food
movement. Says Organic Advocates, Feast of Fields event founder and local chef,
Daniel Gilbert.
Celebrity chefs participating this year are, Chef Michael Smith, Chef Brad Long, Chef
Suman Roy, Chef Emerie Brine and many more. Organic Advocates, Feast of Fields always
gives some of the proceeds back to worthy projects and organic organizations. Last year,
the Childrens Garden was installed on-site for the purpose of teaching the children
how to grow and harvest food. This year, proceeds, in conjunction with King Township, will
help to build a permanent pavilion to be used as an outdoor classroom for environmental
