Barrie, OntarioBarrie

The City of Barrie continues to be one of Canada's fastest growing and dynamic cities. Its location in proximity to the great outdoors and recreational activities promotes an active and healthy lifestyle. Barrie manages to achieve an important balance; with ample parkland, a beautiful waterfront and heritage downtown it maintains a community-minded 'small town feeling', yet at the same time continues to grow and prosper with all of today's modern conveniences, business and development. With these benefits, Barrie is not only a wonderful place to vacation, but also an ideal spot to call home.

At the north end of Barrie is the Highway 11 and Highway 400 interchange. Many consider this the gateway to northern Ontario resort destinations (referred to as cottage country).

Barrie is also home to the MacLaren Art Centre, an innovative art gallery that supports the visual arts in Simcoe County. It inspired the "Art City" project, which has had many different large sculptures installed around the city. These can be found in parks and along the scenic waterfront.

Orillia, OntarioOrillia

The City of Orillia can be found nestled in the heart of Ontario's Lake Country. We are very fortunate to be located on the shores of two beautiful and plentiful natural resources, Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching.

The public spaces around the city have been designed or have evolved to take advantage of the natural and tranquil splendor of the lakes. Boat launches, sandy beaches, clean parks, historic monuments and even a miniature train ride compliment the beauty of our waterfront spaces. The Port of Orillia provides our marine visitors with docking and launching facilities all within a stroll from downtown shopping and dining.

The Radio Show

Orillia Opera House

Ever wonder what went on  behind the scenes of those old broadcasts? A roaringly funny look at the hidden slapstick of the radio-show era.

Is this really what Marconi had in mind? As the world gathered around and tuned in to those comedic radio shows of the 30's and 40's, what could they have known about what was really going on behind the microphone? Beware of "The Foley Table", because a real hambone working the sound effects can easily upstage the actors! Just try keeping a straight face -- or concentrating on the tale you're telling while the sounds of all-heck-breaking-loose surround you. (...Sproing!...Klack!...WoggaWoggaWogga!!!!)
