Anne & Gilbert The Musical
Originally produced in 2007 at the
Thousand Island Playhouse
Gryphon Theatre for Arts & EntertainmentThe beloved stories of L.M. Montgomery come
alive once again with the new Canadian musical, Anne and Gilbert. Based on the Anne of
Green Gables novels Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island, the sequel tells of Anne
Shirleys journey into young adulthood and her ever-changing romance with Gilbert.
This musical is as faithful as possible to the original story, and contemporary audiences
will delight in the lively and insightful tunes as they chronicle Annes college
years.
Anne and Gilbert opened
to rave reviews in Charlottetown two years ago, and critics predict it will become a
classic on the Canadian music scene. After all 44 performances sold out, the Toronto Star
hailed Anne and Gilbert a marvel. The Halifax Chronicle called it
heart-warming, tear inducing, thoroughly satisfying. |
